Wishford Education is celebrating two inspections resulting in the best possible grading. Heywood Prep in Wiltshire and St Faith’s Prep in Kent were inspected shortly before Christmas. They each came away with ‘Excellent’ ratings for both the quality of pupils’ academic and other achievements, and the quality of pupils’ personal development.
At Heywood Prep, the Independent Schools Inspectorate team found that ‘pupils of all ages concentrate, focus, and behave extremely well and this creates a good learning atmosphere’. Pupils have ‘outstanding speaking skills; they are highly articulate and confident in their use of language from an early age’. The inspectors also found that teachers were ‘excellent role models, leading by example with consistent kindness and patience at all times’.
Of St Faith’s Prep, inspectors said ‘Pupils achievements are excellent both in and out of school. This is because they are actively encouraged to develop their individual strengths and passions.’ Pupils ‘have excellent attitudes towards learning’ and ‘approach their lessons with great enthusiasm and a willingness to work.’ ‘Pupils considerable successes are supported by encouraging teaching.’
No two schools in the Wishford Education group are alike. However, these latest inspection reports demonstrate that our core, shared ethos of creating the best possible learning environment for every child in every Wishford school is borne out. We provide a framework that gives our outstanding staff the opportunity to do amazing things – a framework that supports and challenges our heads and teaching staff; that provides opportunities to explore what good education looks like; that creates subject-specific groups to push the curriculum in ever new and exciting ways; that facilitates the flow of all that creativity and best practice back into every school.
We are incredibly proud of everything our schools achieve, and recognise the hard work and dedication that goes into an ‘Excellent’ inspection report.
