OVERVIEW

Wishford Education are seeking an Activity Manager to join our Commercial Team. The successful candidate will

  • Oversee the development of our Discover Camp activities
  • Support with activities, excursion planning and academies for our Summer School

Due to our camps being based in different locations, a driving licence and your own transport will be necessary.

Hours, Salary & Benefits:

Hours: Full time, year round, permanent role. Hybrid – remote and office-based in Westonbirt School

Salary: £30,000 pa

Summary of The Commercial Team:

Founded in 2011, Wishford Education currently includes independent prep and senior schools, nurseries and day and residential camps in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Kent. The group is growing rapidly and we expect a number of additional schools to join us in the near future. Based at Westonbirt School, Tetbury, the Commercial Team run Summer School programmes and Discover Activity Camps.

Summer School provides high-quality summer courses for international students in English language, Artificial Intelligence and Leadership, as well as a variety of fun academic and co-curricular activities created by the Westonbirt School’s enthusiastic and highly experienced staff. UK host students participate alongside our international guests.

Discover Camps are designed to encourage children to develop new skills, enjoy new experiences and make friends. Discover Camps are more than just school holiday day care. Discover Camps are about activity and adventure, exploration and discovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Planning: Develop and deliver a diverse range of activities, including sports, arts and crafts, specialist programs, designed to enrich the camp experience. The activities must encourage creativity, character development, exercise, social interaction, and fun.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage activity staff, providing training and support to ensure high-quality program delivery.
  • Safety Oversight: Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments as needed.
  • Equipment: Oversee the management, maintenance, and logistics of all kit and equipment, ensuring that each site is properly equipped and all items are in good working order. Additionally, coordinate the logistics and organisation of any Hero activity to ensure smooth operations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records, including activity schedules, attendance, and incident reports.​
  • Recruitment: Assist in the recruitment process to attract and hire high-quality staff.
  • Staff Retention: Develop engaging training programs and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) events to encourage seasonal staff retention.
  • Marketing: Support the promotion of brands within the portfolio by participating in school open days and other events as requested. And distribution of marketing materials.
  • Safeguarding: Be a point of contact as one of the safeguarding leads within the team

  • Organisational Abilities: Efficiently plan, schedule, and execute a variety of activities and events.
  • Leadership Qualities: Motivate and guide teams, manage conflicts, and make informed decisions.
  • Communication Skills: Effectively convey information and instructions to diverse groups, both verbally and in writing.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Understand and respect cultural differences to create inclusive programs.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly address and resolve issues that arise during activities or events.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilise software tools for scheduling, communication, and promotional purposes.
