KS2 Teacher with Maths Specialism

We are looking for a lively, enthusiastic Key Stage 2 Teacher who is imaginative and a team player. The successful candidate will teach Maths to Years 4, 5 and 6. A willingness to play an active part in all areas of school life is essential to this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Stay professionally updated and maintain enthusiasm for their teaching subject.
• Ensure the general welfare of the children through vigilance and care.

• Preserve and enhance the good name and reputation of High March.

Teachers report to the Headmistress, Deputy Heads, and relevant Heads of Department.

Main Responsibilities:

• Class registration
• Pastoral and academic care of the class, in liaison with the Deputy Heads (Pastoral and Curriculum)
• Teach most subjects to the class with the exception of PE, Music, French, Computing and possibly a specialism
• Teach PSHE to the class, following the relevant medium term plan produced by the Head of PSHE
• Liaise with the Learning Support Department regarding the support required for individual or groups of children
• Write and compile form reports in accordance with the School’s Reporting Policy
• Attend Parents’ Evenings
• Participate in the School’s extra-curricular programme
• Participate in the School’s programme of educational visits
• Participate in the staff duty and cover rotas
• Participate in staff meetings
• Participate in staff INSET
• Plan lessons and mark children’s work according to the School’s marking policy
• Attend School events that take place at the weekend or outside normal School hours

Qualifications and experience required:

• Graduate with qualified teacher status
• Evidence of continued professional development and engagement with up to date educational practice
• Evidence of being an excellent practitioner
