Join us for an immersive family experience this summer at Westonbirt. Stay in the beautiful Holford House, a residential manor house with family rooms, ensuite bathrooms, comfortable common areas, a dining room and beautiful surrounding gardens. On the Westonbirt Family Programme, children attend our day camp, while parents are able to take part in excursions organised by the school. With a minibus available daily, parents can also explore the local area, enjoy a coffee and browse nearby shops and attractions.

The Cotswolds region of England is considered one of the most beautiful parts of the UK, and is home to several members of the Royal family, with links to horse eventing and polo.
With its rolling countryside and quintessentially English villages, the Cotswolds is a popular holiday destination, and offers a huge variety of outdoor activities, from walking and riding,to sailing and other water sports. Set in a county steeped in history, with castles and palaces dating from Roman times, Westonbirt School is within half an hour of the World Heritage City of Bath, with its Roman Baths and great shopping opportunities, and is just 90 minutes from London.
Located in the historic town of Tetbury, just 4 miles from Westonbirt School, Holford House offers beautiful and comfortable accommodation for parents and children to enjoy their visit to the Cotswolds. Situated within it’s own stunning grounds, Holford House is the perfect retreat for parents and children to enjoy the charming surroundings and proximity to nearby towns and cities such as Bath and Bristol.
Quiet and relaxing accommodation will comprise of bedrooms with 1, 2 or 3 beds, with a comfortable and spacious living area to relax in. The stunning gardens offer the perfect space to relax and unwind after a busy day exploring.
Set within glorious countryside, Westonbirt House, the home of Westonbirt School, was built in the late 1800s by Robert Holford, one of the richest men in England, and was the most expensive and luxurious country house created in the whole of the Victorian era.
A school for over 90 years, its stunning architecture and interior design, as well as extensive parkland, make Westonbirt House a dramatic and exciting environment in which to live and learn and perfect for running around the huge green surroundings.
Westonbirt’s Discover Activity Camps have developed an exciting programme of activities and specialist camps suitable for ages 4-12 years, offering opportunities for children to be creative and active, integrating seamlessly with the other day camp pupils, ensuring happy and entertained children throughout the holidays. Making the most of our great facilities and 210 acres of parkland, children are offered the opportunity to work together to create the perfect package of activities from our extensive list on offer, including swimming, arts & crafts, forest school, cookery, football, and cricket amongst many others, ensuring they make the most of everyday, in a safe and fun environment.
The youngest children are offered a full programme of fun activities that may include forest school, sport, creative activities and a hot lunch and afternoon tea snack.
With approximately 20 children per week in each age group (4-5, 6-7, 8-9 and 10-12) the summer camp offers many opportunities to make new friends with local children and enjoy their holiday experience in England. Sometimes we choose a theme which can be linked to an academic topic, for example The Greeks. The theme flows throughout their week with us, through their cooking, sport and arts and craft activities.
A daily pick up by minibus is available to collect and deliver children to and from Westonbirt School’s Discover Activity Camp, before parents are able to enjoy the day exploring the local area, enjoy a coffee or browse antique shops nearby. The children will arrive home at 17:15 in their own dedicated minibus.
As part of the Westonbirt Family Summer Camp package, we are delighted to offer all children 1.5 hours of free English lessons once a week, in the stately surroundings of Westonbirt School. In light and bright classrooms, lessons will be arranged by age and ability, ensuring all children are taught to the best of their ability.
English language lessons will be taught by specialist teaching staff with a maximum of 12 children to 1 teacher per lesson, ensuring that the children get the most out of this opportunity.
A freshly prepared daily breakfast will be provided for all parents and children each morning at Holford House by the catering staff, ready to set you all up for a day of fun and adventure. Children will be given healthy snacks to take with them, keeping them energised throughout the day. A hot lunch is provided daily during the summer camp for all children at Westonbirt.
Parents will be offered a daily picnic each day of the week whilst their child is at camp, with a choice of sandwich fillings, fruit, healthy snack options and a drink, allowing parents to explore the local area and eat their lunch at leisure. All guests will be provided with a two course hot dinner served at Holford House each night of the week.
Parents will be able to enjoy planned trips on four weekdays, whilst children are at Westonbirt’s Discover Activity Camps. We would be delighted to offer ideas for things to see and do whilst staying with us at Holford House, so parents can enjoy a mixture of cultural, historic, city and outdoor trips.
On the first Monday of each group, parents will be given a full tour of Westonbirt School, and will get the chance to visit Westonbirt Arboretum, explore Tetbury and visit the local supermarket to stock up on essentials.
