Gareth Edwards announced as next Head of Heywood Prep

We are delighted to share that Gareth Edwards will become Head of Heywood Prep from January 2027.

Currently acting as Deputy Head, Gareth joined Heywood Prep in 2019. He has been at the heart of life at the school for those 7 years, championing a simple but powerful idea: children shouldn’t have to choose between interests. From Maths to Drama, Science to storytelling, he has helped nurture a culture where curiosity is encouraged, and where pupils are given space to explore widely and deeply.

The team at Heywood Prep are proud of what he has already helped to build there, and we are looking forward to the next chapter with him leading the school forward.
